If you’ve recently had your home tested and found elevated radon levels, you’re probably asking yourself, “How long will it take to fix this?” At The Radon Guys, we get this question often—and the answer might surprise you. In most cases, a professionally installed radon mitigation system can be completed in just one day, typically within 3 to 5 hours.
The timeline depends on your home’s layout—whether you have a basement, crawlspace, or slab foundation—but regardless of the structure, the process is efficient and straightforward. Our first step is a thorough assessment of your home. We determine the ideal placement for the system by identifying radon entry points and choosing the most effective suction location beneath your foundation.
During the installation, we create a small access point in the slab or crawlspace floor to insert the vent pipe. This pipe is connected to a radon fan that runs continuously, drawing radon gas from beneath the home and safely venting it outside, above the roofline and away from any windows or doors. Depending on your preferences and home design, the fan may be installed in the attic, garage, or discreetly on the exterior of your house.
After the system is in place, a post-installation radon test must be conducted to confirm that the system is working effectively and has reduced indoor levels to below the EPA-recommended limit of 4.0 pCi/L—often much lower. Many homeowners are relieved to find out that the whole process is quick, clean, and requires little to no disruption to their daily routine.
At The Radon Guys, we know how important it is to protect your home and your family from radon exposure. That’s why we work efficiently without cutting corners—so you can have peace of mind in just a matter of hours.
